Bees and Milkweed
Milkweed is in bloom and an exceptionally good crop of it is sprouting this year and the bees and other insects are enjoying it. Hopefully we'll see an exceptional year for Monarch butterflies.

Sitting amidst a daisy's pollen, this insect looks suspiciously like a bee, however, it also appears to have only two wings which would make it a fly. Bees sport four wings.

Fantasy Bee
If I was going to dream up a bee this is the one I would dream up.
His shiny green body glittered in this morning's early sunlight as he gathered pollen from the many wildflowers at Coffee Creek. What a beautiful creature!

What's with the Bees?
I've seen an unusual number of bees laying on the ground the last couple of weeks. This one was still alive but barely moving. The bees are of various kinds---this morning I noticed a honey bee which is different than this one, yet doing the same thing---laying on the ground barely moving.
It's a bit strange.
