Racing Raccoon

Racing across the path in front of me at the marsh last Sunday, this raccoon was in a big hurry to get somewhere.

Unlike a couple of weeks ago when I got too close to Mama and three babies, I gave this one a wide berth.

It appears to be a year plentiful of raccoons. There's certainly plenty for them to eat.

Don't mess around with Ma...

While walking through the marsh, my path crossed that of this cute little raccoon family. Mama coon was followed by 3 baby raccoons.

What? You don't see 3?

Ah--there it is, hurrying to catch up with the others. I wish I could show you the closer picture that I was taking of what I thought was a baby but ended up being of Mama.

I can't because as I was setting up to take the picture, Mama rushed out at me with a growl telling me to back off the family. I decided to rush the other way and heed her advice.

Tippi Raccoon

I enjoyed the day at Tippecanoe State Park.

This little one was foraging in the picnic area. He tried to ignore me snapping pictures but then he decided I was hanging around too long and took off up a tree.

Sorry I disturbed your picnic little one.
