The River
Nothing beats the beauty of a river flowing to meet another river flowing to meet the ocean; all connected the whole earth over.

Lazy River
This spring the Tippecanoe River was a torrent, overflowing its banks, hardly what you would call lazy.
Fall has brought the river down to size---confined within its banks it is, once again, on its lazy course.

Raining Violets
Most of the hiking trails and picnic area have been flooded at Tippecanoe State Park. Carp are spawning amidst the picnic tables and grills. It's nice to see a floodplain at work.
But the recent rains have also brought a profusion of wildflowers to the park, among them, it has been raining violets.

A Hundred Chipmunks
Sitting next to the Tippecanoe River the other day, I watched the river pass by.
It was a wonderful day to watch the woodpeckers fly by, gaze at the geese, and listen to a hundred tiny chipmunks in the woods behind me chewing on acorns.
